Abdominoplasty / Blepharoplasty (Dr. Marshall)
This is a letter I should have written months ago, but with each day, it just gets better and better! In July 2011, I had an abdominoplasty and upper and lower blepharoplasty with Dr. Marshall and his staff have treated me like family with respect, caring, and genuine interest. Their patience and experience are genuine and know no bounds. They have helped me with every step of the process, and I absolutely love them for that.
The procedure was long, but the care was incredible. I had the abdominoplasty because I had lost 60 pounds with gastric bypass surgery, but was left with a droopy apron of flesh that jiggled, hurt my back, and made finding flattering clothes very difficult. Having my eyes done was a choice I made because my eyes made me look years older and very tired. After a lot of research, I finally made the decision to go for it, and then looked far and wide for the best surgeon. I chose Dr. Marshall, and after the first consultation, I knew I had found him.
After surgery, I looked and felt like I had been hit by a truck, but I got constant reassurance that the discomfort would not last long, and they were right. By the fourth day, I was taking my daily two mile walks and doing many of my normal activities (except lifting- that was a no-no!) I took ten days off from work, but I did go in for three half-days, and felt no discomfort or fatigue. The binder gave me a comforting feeling – and I still wear a compression garment because it feels so good! The benefits from the abdominoplasty have been amazing – my chronic back pain is 95% improved because I no longer have a big stomach to carry around. Plus, my self esteem is improving every day because I finally look normal. The compliments I get are a wonderful added bonus – I am told that my eyes look natural and I look years younger.
I could see the results from the surgeries very quickly, although it did take about a week for the black eyes to go away. My stomach was swollen due to the procedure, and I was reassured that this would disappear slowly over the next few months. It has been three months now, and I feel and look like a new person. I’m still a bit swollen, but believe me, it’s a vast improvement from what I had before. Who would guess than 2.5 pounds of fat removal could make such a difference? And it will only get better! I have nothing but the greatest respect and affection for Dr. Marshall and his entire staff. I am made to feel special every time I go in for a follow-up, and the encouragement they give me is priceless. The surgeries were fantastic choices for me! Thank you to Dr. Marshall and his staff for giving me a better life.

FACELIFT (Dr. Marshall)
I was not aging well. I had puffiness and sagging under my eyes. Skin drooping over my eyelids, many deep wrinkles around my mouth and triple chins. Dr. Marshall performed a facelift for me which tightened the eyelids and all but eliminated the puffy circles under my eyes. He tightened the skin on my face and neck. The only chin I have now is the one I'm supposed to have. I look and feel years younger! My friends say retirement has taken years off my face, but my secret is cosmetic surgery with Dr. Marshall. Now I can grow old gracefully.

BREAST REDUCTION (Dr. Marshall)
I'm a 52 year old woman who has just had a breast reduction. The reduction was not always something I had thought about until 2 years ago, when my PCP (Primary Care Physician) recommended I look into it. I had been having backaches and a lot of chaffing underneath my breasts. Perhaps the worst thing I had noticed was myself getting more and more round-shouldered.
I had the surgery done 2 months ago. It was quick and painless. The first thing I noticed was only 48 hours after surgery. I was in a beach chair in my yard, and I noticed my shoulders pulled back as they always used to be. My backaches have disappeared. An added bonus is the way my breasts now look in clothing. I am still healing and notice small things all the time. It was definitely the best thing I could have done for myself.

FACELIFT/SCAR REMOVAL/OBAGI SKIN SYSTEM (Dr. Marshall)
I lifted my chin and showed him a 60 year old scar that started under my chin and ended 3 1/2 inches down my chest. My neck was sagging and the scar tissue was very visable. Dr. Marshal explained what he could do and informed me that during the same time period he could give me a facelift and do my eyes. I was extremely pleased with the results. Not only was the scar not prominent, but my face looked great. There were no visible scars where Dr. Marshall stiched.
On a routine trip Dr. Marshall told me about OBAGI Nu-Derm System, an at-home regimen using a complete line of cleansers, toners and creams. I started using soon after my facelift and am still using them to this day. I also used them on my neck and chest where my scar was and I can no longer see my scar.
A year after my facelift I had another consultation with Dr. Marshall and asked him if he could remove the wrinkles from near my eyes. The results were so unbelievable that there is no way I will ever put makeup on my face again or go in the sun without excellent sun protection ( I use Obagi sun block). Over the years I have kept in touch with the staff at Dr. Marshall's office. I order all the Obagi products I need and I ask questions about new products that have come out. They are really wonderful, knowleadeable people. I went to many doctors over the past 10 years to rid myself of the ugly scar and was told they could possible take a piece of skin from another part of my body to cover it. I'm so glad I waited and found a doctor that not only knew what he was doing but always asked what I wanted him to do, and knew so much about the maintenance of his work. Now it is so wonderful to look in the mirror and see a reflection of myself.

This is a long, overdue letter of thanks for your help and expert care. First, you gave me post-surgical care and did expert corrective surgery to repair the scar from an accident in New Jersey. Last fall, following cosmetic surgery, bees or wasps attacked the healing wound. This lead to complications beyond anything I had imagined. You were exceptionally kind to help me with emergency, middle-of-the-night surgery.
I am sure it was no easy feat to line up an operating room and anesthesiologist. I was scared with so much bleeding but you reassured me and my husband and did everything necessary to fix the harm that had been done. You must've made rounds that morning without getting any sleep.
At this Thanksgiving time I want to be sure to give thanks to you. You are a wonderful doctor and I am one extremely fortunate patient.
