Restylane and Radiesse

The New England Center for Plastic Surgery and Medispa has helped many Boston plastic surgery patients with their aesthetic needs. Many cosmetic surgery patients, including Boston Restylane and Radiesse patients, trust our specialists  to help them achieve their cosmetic goals. The paragraphs below provide an explanation of the Restylane and Radiesse procedures.

What is Restylane?
Restylane® is a safe and natural cosmetic dermal filler that restores volume and fullness to the skin to correct facial wrinkles and folds, such as nasolabial folds. Restylane is cosmetic dermal filler made of hyaluronic acid, a natural substance that already exists in the human body. The hyaluronic acid in Restylane is a crystal-clear gel called NASHATM or Non-Animal Stabilized Hyaluronic Acid. NASHA is completely biocompatible with human hyaluronic acid. Restylane maintains its shape using the body's own moisture. The hyaluronic acid in Restylane is hydrophilic or "water loving." As hyaluronic acid gradually degrades, each molecule binds to more water and over time, the same volume can be maintained with less hyaluronic acid. This ability of hyaluronic acid to bind to water is what helps provide lasting results. Unlike rooster-derived hyaluronic acids and bovine collagen products, Restylane is free from animal proteins. This limits any risk of animal-based disease transmissions or development of allergic reactions to animal proteins.

What is Radiesse?
RadiesseTM is the newest non-surgical facial contouring filler that delivers an immediate, longer lasting result. Developed with safety and longevity in mind, Radiesse is a new generation injectable filler that offers superior versatility for both cosmetic and reconstructive use without surgery. What sets Radiesse apart from other dermal fillers? The answer is in its durability, longevity, and versatility. The unique composition of Radiesse provides immediate visual improvement common with other fillers, along with the benefit of long-lasting results. This is because Radiesse is made of very tiny, smooth calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) microspheres. The microspheres (particles) form a scaffold through which your body's own collagen grows, and this produces the desired long-term effect. These unique advantages make Radiesse the ideal choice for facial shaping and contouring.

You'll like what you see
Let's face it...nothing shows our age quite like our face. Aging, fat loss, and the pull of gravity, eventually create noticeable changes in the area under the eyes, along the cheekbone, and down to the base of the jaw. That's where RadiesseTM can help. Radiesse is an injectable filler that offers a non-surgical approach to shaping and contouring the face. Touted as a superior filler by physicians and patients alike, Radiesse offers immediate and longer-lasting results compared to most other fillers.

For facial contouring, Radiesse can be used for:
- Nasolabial folds
- Marionette lines
- Cheek augmentation
- Non-surgical rhinoplasty
- Jaw line
- Chin augmentation

No matter what procedure you're considering, Radiesse offers unmatched versatility and years of extensive research and testing to prove its safety and effectiveness. Any form of facial contouring with Radiesse is performed as a non-surgical, minimally invasive out-patient procedure in a physician's office.

Results are immediate and only require a few long-lasting treatments, which means Radiesse is also cost-effective – saving you time and money. And while treatment results may vary, results typically last months longer with Radiesse compared to other fillers.

In addition to Restylane and Radiesse procedures, our physicians at the New England Center for Plastic Surgery and Medispa offer other facial cosmetic procedures.
