Age, Sun and Brown spots...

FAQ

How are sun spots, age spots, and brown spots removed?
Sun spots, age spots, and brown spots are treated with the Intense Pulse Light (IPL).

What is Intense Pulsed Light?
This incredible new therapy is based on emitting high intensity pulses of light (not lasers) to penetrate the skin and rid you of various complaints.

What should I expect after my Intense Pulsed Light treatment?
Since there is no real "downtime" you may resume your normal activities after a Pulsed Light treatment. However you must protect your treatment area from UV light, be it natural sunlight or tanning beds.

Does Intense Pulsed Light hurt?
Although all pain thresholds are different - you may feel anything from a sensation of warmth to a sting as if a rubber band has been snapped against your skin.

Will the spots return after treatment?
Not usually. However, new spots may appear over time, but these too can be removed. Optimal results can be maintained only if you apply sun screen on the treated area and avoid future sun exposure.

Are these treatments safe?
Yes. Lasers and advanced light systems have been used safely on millions of patients of all ages worldwide. These systems treat only the targeted spots, leaving the surrounding tissue intact.

How many treatments will I need?
It is difficult to determine the number of treatments necessary without seeing the area first. We will determine the optimal number of treatments during your consultation.
